Screw Pin Dee Shackle

Screw Pin Dee Shackle

It is used as a fastening/union accessory in lifting slings, wire rope slings, and chains at their ends or loops.

The body is forged from 1045 steel and the pin from Alloy Steel. The raised marking on the body of the shackle contains measurements that correspond to its working load limit (inch and ton) and does not affect the mechanical properties of the dee shackle or compromise its operation in load handling.

The identification corresponds to the diameter of the pin that refers to the working load to be used in the loading operation.

Description

There are two types of dee shackles, with a screw pin and a bolt type. The dee shackle is used when it does not need to be removed from the fixing point and when the shackle undergoes a lot of vibration in its use, thus avoiding the bolt or screw pin from loosening due to vibration.

Guidelines for correct use of the Dee Shackle:

  • Always check, before using it, if the markings on the shackle and the pin are legible and in accordance with the Test Certificate.
  • Also, check if the products are not deformed or worn. If they do not have corrosion, cuts, cracks, or notches. In case any of these problems exist, do not use the shackle.
  • Never attempt, under any circumstance, to reshape or repair your shackle by welding, bending or heating.
