Assembling the Chain Slings
In the standard assembly of chain slings, it consists of: initial element (link and link with sub-links), connecting element (padlocks), chain and final element (hooks, shackles). Shorteners
You can choose to put the chain shortener on the branches to shorten the chains independently, move the load when the center of gravity is shifted so that some branches become smaller when they are lifted.
Care
- Do not weld or repair the chain and its accessories;
- Do not paint or galvanise the chain;
- Do not perform sudden movements or sudden lifting;
- Do not remove chain parts, and do not replace original parts;
- Use the equipment for its intended purpose;
- Respect the specified use temperature;
- Do not use acids/custics and their vapours with the chain slings.
Before using the chain sling it is important to note:
- The state of preservation of the chain sling;
- If the chains aren’t twisted;
- The load has been placed in the correct place on the hook (exactly in the centre)
Inspection of lifting and handling equipment
The work is based on the main reference norm of manufacture, use, and maintenance of each material as NR’s (regulatory norm), NBR’s (national technical norm), and other international technical norms.
Chain Slings ABNT NBR 15516 1-2 - 12 months
The service is performed with the issuance of a technical book, presenting a report of each material analyzed. This report holds data on corrective maintenance to be used for each material, showing the parts to be repaired or exchanged.
